STATE FLAG OF THE REPUBLIC OF KARAKALPAKSTAN

The Law "On the State Flag of the Republic of Karakalpakstan" was adopted on December 14, 1992, at the 12th session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. The Law "On the State Flag of the Republic of Karakalpakstan" was adopted on December 14, 1992, at the 11th session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

The State Flag of the Republic of Karakalpakstan is a rectangular cloth consisting of three horizontal stripes of blue, yellow, and green colors. The yellow stripe is separated by white and red borders.

The blue color of the flag is a symbol of water and spring. The yellow color indicates that most of Karakalpakstan consists of deserts. The green color is a sign of renewal of nature, spirituality, trust, and the sun. The crescent moon is the sacred embodiment of Muslims, the image of five stars is a symbol of life and trust in the five most ancient cities of Karakalpakstan. The State Flag of the Republic of Karakalpakstan represents the Republic of Karakalpakstan in the international arena: during visits of official delegations of the Republic of Karakalpakstan to foreign countries, in international organizations, conferences, world exhibitions, sports competitions.

The state flag of the Republic of Karakalpakstan is equal to the flags of other countries in the international arena.

Citizens of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, as well as other residents residing here, must respect the State Flag of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
